SMS Terms

These SMS Terms govern the Lapsebell Expiry Alerts text message program operated by Hydra Media LLC d/b/a Lapsebell ("Lapsebell", "we", "us"). They are part of our Terms of Service.

1. Program description

The Lapsebell Expiry Alerts program sends recurring, automated account notification text messages to Lapsebell users and to people who request support from us. Messages are limited to:

• reminders before licenses, permits, inspections, certifications, certificates of insurance, registrations and other items tracked in your own account expire;
• alerts when one of those items has expired and has not been marked renewed;
• account and billing notices, such as plan changes and failed payments;
• replies to support requests you submit through our Contact form.

Expiry reminder and expired item text alerts are a feature of the Pro and Team plans and are sent only to the account owner's mobile number. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages under this program.

2. How you opt in

You join the program only by taking an affirmative action through one of these clearly disclosed methods:

1. checking the optional, unchecked text message box next to the mobile phone field on our Create account form or Contact form and submitting the form; or
2. after signing in, selecting one or more text alert types under Reminders & profile → Text message reminders and clicking Save preferences.

Each method shows the full program disclosure next to the box. Every text option is optional and unchecked by default. Providing a mobile number, creating an account, accepting our Terms of Service, purchasing a plan or submitting a form does not by itself enroll you. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or of using Lapsebell.

After you opt in, we send a confirmation message:

3. Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends on the items in your account and the reminder schedule you choose. Reminders due on the same day are combined into one message.

4. Costs

Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan. Lapsebell does not charge for text messages.

5. How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message to stop all messages from this program. We also accept STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE and OPTOUT. You will receive one final confirmation:

You can also turn off text messages at any time under Reminders & profile, or ask us to stop by email at [email protected] or by phone at +1 (888) 852-5409. Opt-out requests are honored immediately and in any case within 10 business days. To rejoin, reply START or re-enable text messages under Reminders & profile.

7. Sample messages

• Lapsebell: General contractor license (Acme Builders) expires in 30 days (Nov 18). Renew it before it lapses. Reply STOP to opt out.
• Lapsebell: Truck 3 registration expires in 7 days (Oct 30). Renew it before it lapses. Reply STOP to opt out.
• Lapsebell: Electrical permit (Main St remodel) expired on Oct 14. Mark it renewed in Lapsebell once updated. Reply STOP to opt out.
• Lapsebell: Electrical permit (Main St remodel) is still expired, 14 days past Oct 14. Reply STOP to opt out.
• Lapsebell: 3 items need attention. First: Health permit (Downtown kitchen) expires in 7 days. Details in Lapsebell. Reply STOP to opt out.
• Lapsebell: A payment for your Lapsebell Pro plan failed. Update your card in Billing to keep your plan. Reply STOP to opt out.

8. Carriers

Supported carriers include major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

9. Privacy

We use your mobile number only to deliver the messages described above. Mobile numbers and text message opt-in data and consent are not shared with, sold or rented to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes

We may update these SMS Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
